Retiring to Oxford - iffley ? Other areas

We’re thinking of moving to Oxford. We have a daughter who is there who may need some help with childcare . more importantly we want to move from a rural place to a town . But not a lot going on in Iffley . Will be retirees so would like to get involved in the community. What happens in Iffley ? I’d value thoughts

Iffley Village? I’d have thought there was potential for loads going on there — you’d just have to get stuck in. But it’s so close to the centre of Oxford that you’d hardly be pining for things to do.

Oxford is not a large city and public transport links are good (driving is horrible) so even if Iffley does not have enough going on to keep you busy, you can easily get around.
What sort of things do you want to do? Volunteering, am-dram, music, debates, walking etc.
