Coal mining boundary

After a search via the coal authority website it has come back with info that a property I’m interested in is located on the coalfield 😳

has anyone else had any experience of buying when this crops up ?

I know it can relate to subsidence, but is this a major no no or can it mean it’s within a certain distance from your property ..

I would certainly investigate further. I was brought up in a house built over coalfieds. They were fine for years. But decades later a friend got up opened his back door and his garden had been swallowed up. I'm not saying that would happen to you, but continue to do your homework.
