Coal mining boundary

After a search via the coal authority website it has come back with info that a property I’m interested in is located on the coalfield 😳

has anyone else had any experience of buying when this crops up ?

I know it can relate to subsidence, but is this a major no no or can it mean it’s within a certain distance from your property ..

TIA

I would certainly investigate further. I was brought up in a house built over coalfieds. They were fine for years. But decades later a friend got up opened his back door and his garden had been swallowed up. I'm not saying that would happen to you, but continue to do your homework. Good luck, hope it works out for you.
