How long do homebuyers surveyors take

Not how long to come back with results, but how long do they take to look around a house, I’m selling again last time I sold a house the surveyor was in my home for nearly 5 hours, he sat on my sofa and ate has his lunch! I couldn’t believe how long he was there, it was so stressful, is this normal or are they usually quicker?

Do you have a mansion?

We had a company come round our old house for a level 2 survey, they said they would be there 90 mins but they were there 45 minutes because it was a newish house that they said didn’t really need a level 2 survey so they didn’t need as much time. I felt this was a bit cheeky because if someone has paid for the thoroughness of a level 2 they should get that regardless of the house. We paid for a level 3 survey of the house we bought and I would have liked to think they were there for 5-6 hours but I bet they weren’t.

Would you mind them being in your house for 5-6 hours?

Do you think if someone living in the property and if they are in at the time of the survey the surveyor is quicker?

5-6 hours sounds like it wasn't the basic homebuyer's survey.
We had someone take 6 hours but it was a specialised report (they ate their lunch somewhere else though - in their car probably).

Blimey, they’re gonna have to be quicker than that.

Well is it a homebuyer's survey or a higher level one? Because that'll be what helps determine how long it will take.
