Shattered double glazed window - how to deal with it til Monday

The outer pane of our double glazed conservatory door has mysteriously shattered today (of course - Christmas Day, when else!!). It looks like something has hit it hard from the outside and the glass is still in place but completely in tiny fragments, similar to how a safety glass car windscreen might look after an impact. The inner pane is intact, but we need to try to hold it in place until Monday when I hope we can contact a local window company to replace it. Is there some sort of film or sheeting we can stick to it to stabilise it short term? All advice and suggestions very gratefully received. Thank you and Happy Christmas.

Duck tape, applied carefully two layers at right angles to each other.

Cardboard taped over it

This happened to our middle window. And the window guy said to wrap cling film around the frame so it was all sandwiched in.

Thank you for the suggestions. Will see what materials I can find today to hold it. We certainly have duct tape if all else fails. It’s quite a large area so have to see what I can do. It’s still in place at the moment. Fingers crossed.

We had the same problem within a week of replacing the old with a new window. It was about a month ago. We did not dare to touch it, and it is still holding itself in one piece (with thousands of cracks in it) It is a large window of 120cm x 300cm. A new double glazed window is coming next week.
