Non standard

We are purchasing a non standard construction property, we can't afford to knock down and rebuild, but it is a complete renovation inside. Would you plasterboard walls and ceilings? Don't say back away from it, we've done our homework on the property and it's fine to purchase. TIA.

I doubt anyone can comment helpfully on such scant information.

I didn't think it was scant, should I plasterboard internal walls & ceilings, in a non standard construction?

I’m surprised you can get mortgage on it.

Is it your long term home?

It is scant detail because you haven't said how the house is actually constructed and what is there currently.

Don't need mortgage. Great rural location, great views, no problem selling, when they come on the market.

Concrete. I was thinking plasterboard, re smooth decorating

Yes, insulated plasterboard, then plaster over, then paint.

Construction method of house very relevant; could've been a log cabin, or whatever.

Insulate the floors too. Concrete sucks heat out of a house.

Then I’d decorate however you see fit. I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking.

I would get a builder round who has experience working with non standard construction homes to see which materials they’d recommend. If it’s timer framed for example, fire retardant may be your priority.

We saw a beautiful non-stardard construction locally, absolutely stunning plot!!

I'm assuming OP is being cautious in case throwing up a load of plasterboard might cause damp issues.
