What could I put in front of these concrete blocks to conceal them?

Pic attached - I like the idea of putting long planters in front of them , but would want strong ones that aren't going to fall over..
I also thought about painting the concrete blocks but I've no idea what colour or if you can even paint concrete blocks? Anything to either conceal them or make them look less noticable.

Planters/ trough planters around the edge of the house to conceal the bricks -same height and size with flowers inside would soften it

You could paint them brown so that they'd look like wood. You'd need to use exterior masonry paint - like Sandtex.
Or maybe encourage moss to grow on them?
