Can't afford Oxford, where to go?

We've lived in Oxford for 8 years (dh and 2 young children), we love it here, made great friends, but we're expected our third child and we can no longer make our 2 bed terrace work for us! We very sadly have realised that we just can't afford a 4 bedroom home in Oxford, but we don't know where else to go. No local family so that's not an issue. Budget up to £700,000.

Dh commutes to London 3 times a week so that's a key consideration. He currently cycles to the station, but would be willing to drive a short distance. We need 4 bedrooms, a good-sized garden, we like older homes rather than a new build. Not too far from Oxford, but no more than 1 hour by train to London. Can anyone help?!

Letchworth Garden City? It has good schools and easy access to London, and you'd get a 4 bedroom house with garden for that price

Haddenham or Thame? Easy to get back to Oxford to see friends. Cheaper and lovely community. Good schools and train to London

There are plenty of places around and close to oxford where you can get a 4 bed for 700k and good train links.

Banbury, abingdon, didcot etc.

Kidlington.
Don't forget Oxford Parkway.

Banbury.
Further out than Kidlington but more for your money.

These are both lovely OP and you can still get your Oxford fix easily -as it's only 15 minutes on bus

Newbury? Can do Oxford in 35 mins by car and a good train service to Paddington. Schools are good and there's a lot going on in the town.
