Shower knob turning loosely but not switching on!

Hi all,
Any help appreciated. Shower knob was working fine yesterday but today when I went to turn it on, the knob feels very loose and won’t switch on 😫I’m in a rented property so unsure what the make is.
Thanks in advance!

It’s the knob on the left of the pic which isn’t switching on, the one on the right is to change the temperature. 😊

You need a new shower valve I think. Have a chat with your landlord and ask him to send his plumber out.

The part of the know that goes round the spindle has probably rounded off. See if it will pull off and then you may be able to turn it with some pliers in the meantime.

But it probably needs a new shower if the casing is broken.

We have a shower bar like that - basically the cover has grips/thread that turn the valve inside, over time they wear away (especially if like Mr Monkey you insist on closing it tightly).

It most likely just needs a new cover. If it is Aqualisa you can order the parts online.

Thanks all 😊I’ll give the landlord a ring tomorrow. Will have to treat myself to baths in the meantime!
