Do b&q match colours to wallpaper?

I am spending a fortune on samples to try and match the wallpaper I have chosen and none of them look right. Does anyone know if I took a sample to b&q if they could mix a shade to match a colour from the wallpaper? How does this work? It's quite a trek from me so want to know before I venture down.

Yes they do but it depends on how big the sample of colour is you are matching. I take in a Dulux colour card and they can match from that. If your wallpaper is a solid colour it will be easy, if it is a flower on the wallpaper it will depend on the size.

For future, if you are planning to decorate more rooms try to buy a Dulux colour fan deck with all the colours in, around £30 from some decorating suppliers, I bought mine off Ebay as they are for professionals which I am not. Ridiculous that they don't consider the average person may want one. Valspar do not sell one, I contacted them directly and spoke to the Valspar rep in B&Q. All my paint is Valspar but matched to Dulux colours.

Alternatively companies like Little Green Paint Company do a colour chart for free but it is nowhere near as comprehensive as a fan deck.

This is the wallpaper I've got, I was hoping to match the colour to the middle shade, it's for a small nursery that we are about to decorate. I've always found dulux paint great but can't quite find the right shade!

This is exactly what b&q do not sure if there is a charge though.

I think that would be big enough for the scanner. There is no charge for the scan, I would get them to mix up a sample pot and then they can actually paint it onto the wallpaper to check the colour match. They usually have paintbrushes under the desk, but you can take your own little brush too.

For Valspar paint, you can just take the wallpaper in, tell them which bit in particular you want to match to and they scan it to get the colour mix. They were even able to do it when I took a photo of a wall for which I needed to match and it worked.
It costs the same as picking up a colour card for Valspar and them mixing that

Yes, I did it with a wallpaper that was much more fiddly than yours with lots of different colours and the prpduced gret results! No charge

That's great and will save a lot of faffing on trying various different samples, I will call down over the weekend 😊

That wallpaper is fine to match I reckon

When I went the lady in front of me got the back of her phone case. It was a purple and her dd wanted the same colour. So I think if it's the same size or bigger than a phone it's all good

My swab was the size of a 10p and it was too small. However the lady was really knowledgeable and managed to pick the perfect shade in about 30 seconds just by knowing the shades on offer. I was very impressed

You need an inch square, a solid colour to match in any paint shop that scans colour. Fabric is not reliable. Mixed paint is usually at customers' risk and non return if wrong.
