Help Roof leaking ...

Hi All,

Storm Bert which hit the UK the other week broke and moved some of my roof tiles in doing so leaked water into my attic and with the heavy rain and wind we had it got bad and started leaking water into my daughters bedroom. With all the rain we have had during and since it has ruined the ceiling and water still coming in.

Insurance are being really slow and trying to get out of it,.
But I am worried as we now have another storm coming in and the wind and heavy rain has started and the ceiling has now started leaking ....

Does anyone know, even though a claim with my house insurance is in progress, Am I able to claim on the Home Emergency Insurance which is an insurance add on to come out for the leak or to try and do a temporary repair to at least try and stop the rain coming in while the house insurance is being processed.

They are trying to say its wear and tear but reason given the gutters have leaves in so water has gone in that way as damp was not detected in the attic - Christ we have just had a storm so yes leaves and moss in gutter. Water can't run up the leak is where the tiles are off/broke/moved no where near the gutter, the insurance have no idea, just trying to get out of it.

I have had a couple of general builders come out and they have each pointed out the same thing and said it is nothing to do with the gutter and it is storm damage as tiles have moved about etc and the rain has come in. I am awaiting for them to put this in writing so I can put it to the insurance. And then just hoping and praying. I am not in a good place at the moment and everything is going wrong. :(

Get a tarpaulin in the loft if you can ASAP. This storm that's coming Darragh looks dreadful

Thanks I've tried but can't get to where the area is safely. I put tarp and buckets in bedroom. I will try again tomorrow with the loft. Really worried as yeah the storm incoming looks worse than storm Bert which did the damage so I'm dreading it.
