Any one else completing before Christmas?

Eeek! Just found out yest that its looking like 19th Dec for completion, its gonna be a very chaotic Christmas but we'll make it work somehow.
The sellers are taking all their white goods so just hoping we can arrange delivery of fridge, washer etc for as soon as possible after we move in!
Would love to hear if anyone else is joining us for a chaotic Christmas..

We've been living in my sister's sitting room since we sold in July. Just waiting to get life insurance waived so we can draw down the mortgage. Everything else s in place and we're hoping to move next week. It's interesting.

Us too - all agreed to complete on the 17th. Meant to exchange on Monday, then yesterday, now today but it's touch and go as to whether the removals company will still be available!

It's a project house so preparing for a cold draughty Christmas. But I've got a box ready to go with lights and a wreath so the first thing I'll do is give it a little facelift for Christmas! Can't wait!

Yes, 100% , I'm also prioritising the Christmas decorations once we arrive and then at least it will be a pretty sparkly chaos!

I had kind of decided not to bother with Christmas decorations and save it for next year (it's our first house so don't own any yet either!) but you're making me want to put it higher up the list!

We moved on the 19th December which was also our son’s 7th birthday. Had pizza for tea. It will be a memorable one for you!

We are meant to be.. exchanging tomorrow and complete on 17th.. mad day yesterday trying to agree dates and it still feels very precarious so don't want to jinx it. I'll let you know tomorrow!!

We wanted to a few years ago but got pushed to early Jan. I'd have loved the chance to get in and unpacked before sending the kids to a new school. As it was they had 6 days back at old school then moved overnight.

I've been awake for hours as meant to be exchanging today with completion on 17th and really nervous.. Mad day yesterday making sure we were 100% ready, and while we are, my buyer and vendor are, we just have to hope the two at the bottom of the chain are as ready as we are told they are!

It's going to be a long day with either bubbles or tears at the end!

DS and partner are trying to hold off their move to post Xmas as they need to give notice to their landlord a month's notice. Exchange is imminent and sellers would like pre Xmas completion. No one else in chain.

Looks like we'll be exchanging Mon/Tues & completing Thursday...so nervous!

We moved years and years ago on November 28, which turned out to be surprisingly close to Christmas. The house was a mess, but we made do, and whilst it was chaotic, that was one of the best Christmases we've had.

We're going round in circles with the stupid bank sending messages asking for things we've already given them. I'm going to have to ring in the morning and have a detailed conversation about where we stand.

Apparently our solicitor has to request drawdown by friday to move before Christmas, and she can't do that till the bank give us the go-ahead to go without life insurance. I'll have died of stress before this bloody process ends...

We're currently waiting on one enquiry....every single other thing is in place

We exchanged yesterday - it was a nerve wrecking week last week, but complete on 17th - very relieved! I think I know more about conveyancing now than my actual solicitor

We are exchanging this afternoon to complete tomrorow

We're closing tomorrow! After an enormous number of fuclups and apologies by the bank, we're finally sorted. Now I can start packing
