A question about bathroom sink tap

Thinking about replacing mine as it's looking grotty. It's one of those traditional mixer taps with 2 handles. My question is - are they all a universal/standard size? It's a bit hard to measure without unscrewing the tap and I have no idea how to do that!

Should be, can’t say with 100% certainty as there could always be an odd ball out there somewhere but all new taps are the same size thread. If you can take a photo or short video under the sink then go to a plumbers merchant they should be able to tell straight away.

Which bit of the tap do you mean?

If unsure, go to somewhere that sells taps and ask them.

Sorry I mean the hole that it fits in. Was hoping I could just whichever basin mixer tap I wanted without doing any measurements!

Yes the bit that fits in the sink should be universal
