Cooking Appliance Integration

Hi

I'm having a new kitchen and the design is all finished, not looking to change that, but:

Design has a single oven and a combi micro oven in a tower.

It's only in the last couple of days I've realised QUITE how expensive the combis are. I've also been dithering about an air fryer for some time anyway.

In my old kitchen I had a double oven and largely used the top oven for ready meals and the grill, the bottom oven for baking or entertaining cooking. I used the microwave quite a lot as well.

I'm wondering if I should just integrate just a microwave along with the oven and get an air fryer for similar light top oven type use instead. [I'd probably get one more like a top oven than with drawers although appreciate that's a whole separate debate].

I've got a ton of space but I can't reconfigure the kitchen at this point. It's also just me in the house.

Any thoughts would be fabulous to hear!

Thank you so much!

I would.

I'm a big fan of reducing counter top clutter, but your solution is too pragmatic and sensible to be rigid about that.

That sounds positive then!

I'm wondering about air fryer as I usually an cooking for family of four, have heard they're brilliant to use and they are cheaper than a full oven... But am soon putting in new kitchen so wondering if I can design it in... But so I want to when I've never used it... And maybe they are not built in-able anyway...

Need to work out this answer sometime.

Meanwhile for you, I think it will be a great solution, friends who use them think they're so versatile, quick and cheap to use.

I have an air fryer/slow cooker/pressure cooker made by Instant Pot it’s outstanding, I hardly use the oven.

Hi again [i bought a Ninja today ridiculous not to have done sooner frankly a without a kitchen entirely since September!]

It's too late for me to bake it in to the design "properly"and like I say I have cupboard space for it myself.

But, I might butcher a cupboard slightly so it is open to the room, mainly because I understand they need ventilation when in use. Where I will have it, needs cupboard door open while it will be used which I'm fine with.

HOWEVER if it's helpful I figured out a good way of incorporating it. There are those roll top cupboard doors a bit like a bread bin that retract when open, basically keep out of sight as not fully integrated but open when in use without intruding. I just checked the depth of my new one and it would fit a wall cabinet just fine as well - mine is going in full depth.

So if mine gets super heavy use and I want it super easy access then I intend to amend that cupboard marginally with some minor boxing. Howdens don't have a bread bin door or I would have made it a switch now but in future I can simply amend with one of those from elsewhere if I want.

Maybe that might help, I wish I'd bought one sooner if for nothing else than to see me through this build period! Still in the box though, can't yet report my verdict 😀

I have no idea where these gin bottles come from. I was just reporting that I'd bought one this afternoon...
