If possible mechanical type ...fed up of the digital ones going wrong ..

I have Salter mechanical scales which I've had for years, to the point where the white outer casing has yellowed. I use them for measuring out baking ingredients - flour, butter, etc - and my cakes always turn out fine.

I also have digital scales which I use for other food stuff for times when I want to be more precise.
