Oil tank in garden of property, I've offered on, would you keep it, for heating the house. Or get an electric combi boiler, to heat house and water? Gas isn't an option.

You need to work out the running cost.

Depends on size and type of house, how insulated it is and what you consumption demand will be

Ive got oil for heating and hot water and electric for everything else.

Cost about 100ltrs in the summer for oil and anywhere from 700-1000ltrs in the winter. Oil prices range from 50p ltr to 80p ltr

I'm running a drafty 3 bed old house and have learnt to wear thermals and heating only just gone on.

AFAIK electric combi boilers are much more expensive to run than oil boilers. We had oil central heating and it was absolutely fine, you just have to remember to budget to fill the tank up. Or some companies will arrange a direct debit scheme.
