Sheds!

Our neighbours house is a good 6ft above ours (ground level) possibly more actually, they already had a shed outside the back door (in addition to another 2 further in the garden) to their house but have just erected another. The first shed we could kind of ignore as we have a bush in front of it but this new one is a right eyesore and is practically eye level with our bedroom window.

I'm prob not going to say anything but I'm just really disappointed it's made my garden and windows at back feel like I'm overlooking a storage unit.

Would this bother you?

Not really tbh.

The huge grey wall looks like more of an eyesore than the sheds tbh.

I am not sure about what the rules are and may vary from authority to authority.

But I did read somewhere on the web you are not allowed to cover more than 50% of the original land of a house with outbuildings. There might be some detail in this though so no guarantee it applies to you.

I agree about the wall. It's all a bit all over the place to be honest. I can't even put trellis up to hide it a bit as it will make the wall about 14ft my side!
Thx

I would be more worried of what an old man is storing in 4 sheds, geez.

kirinm · 18/11/2024 16:27

There are no windows in those sheds so how is it overlooking you?

kirinm · 18/11/2024 16:27

Oh sorry! I misread what you said.

It would be slightly annoying but they look quite neat so not really.

heldinadream · 18/11/2024 16:31

Grow a variety of climbers up your attractive fence and you'll hardly notice the sheds, surely?
At the moment with your fence and his sheds it's just a wall of plain wood. You have the power to change that.

It wouldn't particularly bother me. You're not overlooked, they're neat, it gives you privacy and there won't be a trampoline, noisy patio, bbq etc on your boundary line which are all positives.
