Moving to Colchester

Hi everyone,
I am checking out houses in Colchester and I wonder if anyone lives near Harwich road area. Is it safe to walk at night for women? Hythe station looks a bit scary as it looks some of the streetlights not working properly but I wonder if it's a generally unsafe area and Harwich road is okay or should I just avoid both entirely? I plan to commute and once an hour train enough for me because the houses are cheaper on this side of Colchester. Thanks,

Harwich road isn't the greatest of areas - especially the area around Dilbridge rd (white city) and the top end that borders Greenstead. Bits of it are ok - Longridge park and the bits towards parsons Heath.

Used to live nearby and probably wouldn't do that walk at night. Not the nicest area
