Those who have done this and then borrowed extra as moving house where you able to sort the offer in principle on line or did you have to go into the branches and talk to a person to get it sorted?

It probably depends who you're with - I'm with Nationwide - I just rang their mortgage help phone number and asked lots of silly questions about how to do it and they were very helpful.

But yes we got the DIP online, (the full amount not just the extra you to borrow,) then after that booked an appointment with the Nationwide advisor who sorted it all out for us. Very quick and easy!

We're just going through this now. Got the offer in principle on line, the full mortgage application was done via a teams meeting and paperwork signed via docusign.
All very different to the last time we moved when we had to make an in person bank meeting!

Over the phone with Halifax

Oh yes sorry, same as PP the appointment was via teams, so never had to go into a branch

We got an offer in principle for the full mortgage online and dealt with it all in the mortgage appointment once our offer was accepted

We did with Santander, phone call, but both of us needed to speak to them separately as it is a joint mortgage. Absolutely no bother.

Doing exactly same with Yorkshire building society. Mortgage offer in principle i just renew every month. Moment we get offer accepted on our home and buy our new one, we then proceed with full mortgage application to port the mortgage

We've done this with RBS. MiP was done online and then the actual mortgage application was done via a Zoom meeting. All very straightforward and they were super helpful.
