Burglar Alarm

Does anyone currently have an operative intruder alarm? How does it work and what is the price e.g. was it a one off installation or is it a subscription service? Does it just set an alarm off, or does it automatically call a security service?

Just wondering what to expect when getting one fit.

Grateful if you have recent (past 5 years) experience.

We use Verisure. £50 pm. Sets the alarm off + calls the monitoring folks

Also, what happens if the police don't come (which they rarely do now for burglaries). Does the security firm let you know what they say to police and average response rates?

I'm looking to purchase a security system soon but only want to pay a subscription if someone actually comes! Definitely want the alarm system though.
