Sheep smell in new carpet

Have had a gorgeous 100% wool Cormar carpet laid - I love it. However, unlike previous wool carpets, it doesn't have that fresh from the factory slightly chemical smell but a quite strong 'sheepy' farmyard smell. It's not repulsive but definitely farmy and am worrying it won't fade! Has anyone else had this and had it fade over time? It's definitely the wool of the carpet rather than glue etc as the top of the loose offcuts have the same smell

Has it got damp in any way? That's the smell wool carpets normally emit when they are damp or wet.

It doesn't feel damp but it's possible it's been stored somewhere damp before being fitted - I've got the dehumidifier running in case

I also have a wool Cormar carpet. The smell fades, don't worry.

Thanks @username7891 that's very reassuring. Not sure if I've just got used to the smell but I feel like the smell has dissipated a little since I've had the dehumidifier running
