Making electrics safe when demolishing conservatory to make way for extension

Can't get hold of my builder and we need to get the old conservatory down ourselves ASAP.

We're replacing our dated conservatory with an extension on the same footprint. We're taking the down the conservatory roof and windows and leaving the brickwork in place.

The conservatory contains a couple of sockets, two light fittings, a wall mounted heater and a ceiling fan. Obviously once the roof comes off the electrics will be exposed to the weather. Do we need an electrician to come and make everything safe beforehand or is it a case of turning off that part of the circuit and covering anything exposed with electrical tape?

I'm inclined to think it's an electrician job!

Just isolate and carefully tape the wires as you demolish around them.
