Loud extractor fan -- neighbours say it makes their house shake!

We have moved into a house that had an existing wall mounted hood extractor fan (piped to the outside, IKEA brand.) When we turned it on, our neighbours rang our bell very upset that it is making their house shake! Apparently, previous occupants never used it. I know it's about eight years old.

Victorian terraced house.

Now, of course I can replace it. But is there anything fundamentally wrong that I should look into? Can't seem to get an electrician to come and look at it before I order a new one to install.

Has anyone had this issue and resolved it? Thanks!

Not sure what the answer is but we too are in a Victorian mid terrace and our neighbour has a really noisy extractor fan 😏

The noise may be being transmitted through joists or something. If so, I'm not sure what you can do, But if the fan is worn and has just become 'unbalanced' as fans do, that makes them noisy, and a new one might solve the problem.
