Our estate agent failed to sell our property in 5 months plus getting us to reduce price by 75000. So we told them to take it off the market.
After a few days they called us to say they had a cash buyer who had viewed and would like to buy it and we agreed to the offer thinking it would be a quick sale. we were not sure if they had viewed or not as we had moved out and agent was handling viewings.
we instructed our solicitor and payed her to start work on the sale, and proceeded to give her all of our information regarding the property.
After a about 3 weeks we started to become aware that the buyers solicitor not reacting or responding to our solicitor.
The estate agent was also not calling with updates ,This went on for about 9 weeks untill I decided to look our buyer up on the internet and found her contact number and details and Surprise Surprise she run an estate agents. I call her and she gave me an excuse as to why she had not instructed or started the the buying process.
She is now saying that her solicitor has been payed for the searches after 10 weeks ? We are thinking can we believe this.
we are thinking the buyer was not ready to buy and was waiting to see if we reduced property again ,and when we took it off market saying we were going to let the estate agent called her to make an offer but he agreed not to chase her up on the sale.So two 80 year olds have been ?£%? ??
