Replace uPVC trickle vents?

The windows in our house are from 2007 and the trickle vents are literally falling off the windows. Is replacing them something we can do ourselves or do we need to get someone in to do it for us?

You mean inside or outside ? I assume you mean the actual place where you open and close the vents on the inside.

In my house the trickle vents are just snap in units that snap into holes cut in a kind of facia. The snap in lugs are made of plastic and deteriorate over time, so if you try to remove the vent covers the lugs might snap off.

All you have to do is find out how yours fit on and then google some replacements. They might be snap in like mine. or look for end trims or some sort of cover you can prise off to reveal screws. If they are literally falling off it shouldnt be that difficult to find the mechanism for how they are removed.

@GasPanic Thanks for replying. It's the unit part outside and the open/close flap on the inside of a lot of them. We've lost 5 outside units for no reason and 6 inside flaps just by opening the vents! I don't see any screws so they must be snap in I think. We've not had uPVC before so I'm not sure what I'm dealing with. Can you just buy new snap in units?
