Installation of stacked washing machine/ tumble dryer

I need to replace my stacked appliances. Bosch sell appliances that they say stack alongside stacking kits... but their installation service won't apparently install stacked appliances.

Anyone found anyone who will?

AO sell & offer installation

Ao, Don't install stacked. See this extract from the page you linked to:

"What we don't cover....

For safety reasons, we can’t install in your bathroom or on top of another appliance. (We’ve had stranger requests)."

Nor do John Lewis. Curry's don't seem to do installation at all.
Hence asking who people have used...

Sorry, I did not see that part.

I just have my tumble dryer directly on top of washing machine...nothing has gone wrong over 20 years with replacement machines of both over time (age, not damage from stacking)

TD on TOP of WM!!!

I think most won’t do this as it’s not cost effective as it would have to be a 2 man job

This. But just an FYI - tumble dryers go on top and they are significantly lighter than washers. DH and I installed our together but, if necessary, I reckon I could have done it on my own. And I’m an overweight, middle aged gym dodger.

Absolutely but when they are employing staff to do it it’s all about manual handling and back lift of 10kg

I use to have this it setup years ago nothing to it u take the top of the washer and replace it with sacking kit and a couple of screws to secure dryer on top

I really think it not beyond anyone capable lifting it there’s no doubt be a YouTube video who how to do it

I did mine with my dad.

Try a local independent person, ideally self employed rather than a company

EmmyPankhurst · 30/10/2024 12:38

Ah. There is a drip feed….I’m in SE England my aunt is in Scotland and the appliances are actually hers

this is exactly the sort of thing my Dad would have done and the fact it is proving so difficult is yet another reminder of why I miss him (and makes me so cross I’m left caring for his sister who sits around like a wet fart waiting for other people to sort her life out and can’t even manage to send me a card on my birthday)

edit 2: and who hasn’t dove any fucking household maintenance in 50 years but now I’m dealing with all the contractors etc wants new windows, a full redecoration and functioning appliances having coped without them for a good decade.

if your on face book op see if there's a local area page for her area, maybe look for a general handyman. They'd be able to do this job, probably the decorating and lots of those fiddly jobs that are likely to crop up.

I would second the local handyman through FB route. Invaluable where I live.

The problem with stacker kits are numerous.

Instead, we have a bit of kitchen worktop installed at the appropriate divider height in our laundry cupboard. The washer is installed normally underneath. The drier needs no "installation" it just needs plugging in and lifting into the gap above.

This means that the washer can be serviced/maintained and fixed if it goes wrong without touching the drier

Where is DAunt located?
