Pettswood- Crest view drive

Viewed a property on crest view drive and loved it. It had multiple offers and went under offer within a week. We took longer to decide, but there is another one on the same road which we may consider. Just wanted to get the opinion about the road in general. The pros we see are walkable to station. Close to corfton school though our daughter just turned one and things may change in terms of catchment etc.etc. Rainbow day nursery is walkable too. Any thoughts on the road in general? Link of the house we missed- https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/153162272.

The houses seems to be pricey in general mostly 730-800 ish… thanks

It is indeed a convenient road. Depending where you are on it you get shoppers parking to avoid the parking fees or at the other end the noise from the busy Frankswood Avenue. Tent Peg lane is the entrance to Jubilee park so you get a fair bit of traffic and people heading there and to the scout hut.

Petts Wood is generally very safe but it was near tent peg lane there was a fatal stabbing about a year ago iirc. It was shocking as ‘that sort of thing’ is very unusual locally, we still remember the 1980s when a Police dog got shot in Station Square. Some of the houses have shared drives which are fine but could be problematic if you have a difficult neighbour.

P.s pedantic note, it is Petts Wood as two words, it upsets the locals a tiny bit to call it Pettswood. I appreciate my username doesn’t help in that regard though!

Hi @PettsWoodParadise
I am in a similar boat as others and planning to relocate to Petts Wood for good primary schools ( Perry hall and Crofton). Do you have any suggestions which lanes to target if we plan to relocate to be in the catchment area for both. DD will start reception in 2027, so I guess we have some time.
Budget would be around max 1.1m , and looking for 4 bedroom. Any inputs would be appreciated.

Hello @SchoolhunterMon it is impossible to say for certain as distances change. The lower birth rates should in theory also help you.

Locations more Knoll are most likely to be in catchment for both. Dale Wood Road (private Road) and Hillview Road comes to mind. Something like this https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/161748299

Also possibly end of Petts Wood around Crofton Lane end of Beaumont Road like this more modern house on Homesdale Road

good luck with the move and feel free to PM me if you identify a road / house for an opinion.
