Help please - Carpert Independent Inspection

I had a wool woven carpet fitted 1 week ago and it is beyond poor - areas throughout are already noticeably un-flat and there are damages on the carpet throughout rooms (fiber been pulled out), believe it’s due to poor installation and inappropriate use of tools. The shop has been unhelpful and I’m considering an independent inspection and further actions.

Could someone advise what qualifications the inspectors need to have, please? I came across Wool Safe, is it the right one and only one, please?

The shop installed it too. Their website says they have their own team for installation, and provides 5 years workmanship guarantee. I was allocated a fitter - was not provided a list of them for choosing. However, I was asked to pay the fitter directly - as they are self employed contractors but only work for this shop. I was told during the sales process they will take care if there is any installation issues. I don’t have the fitter’s contact details as all communications were managed by the store.

The store owner agreed it’s not the standard they require, however, the only solution he provided was to have the fitter back to refit. He is not willing to discuss the details nor answering: a) can it solve all problems? B) does it impact the lifespan of the carpet and my warranty.

why don’t you give his suggestion a go

and see the end result

and then discuss with him if still unsatisfactory
