We need a completely new kitchen. Units and appliances. What experience do people have of MKM kitchens?

Hi we have been to their showroom, staff very helpful, waiting on a quote for a kitchen, cannot fault their service for a large company,

Duckinglunacy · 24/11/2024 07:51

Not familiar with MKM but bought a DIY kitchen in 2019 that is still fab today. Still looks new, excellent quality and price.

Thanks, I have gone with them. The designer there was very helpful. Am using a kitchen fitter we used at our last house a few years ago and he said the quality is good. Wish me luck, fitting is scheduled for the week before Christmas!

MKM are a builders merchant, sells Symphony kitchens we are looking at their premium range, anyone had a Yew tree kitchen, they look good on their website.

Katb202060 · 24/11/2024 17:05

Did you go with DIY or MKM . ?

ImTheOnlyUpsyOne · 24/11/2024 17:10

My parents just got an mkn kitchen and they love it. They really love the tradesmen that were recommended and the designer that helped them. It looks beautiful and is good quality.

Autumn1990 · 24/11/2024 17:33

i bought a mid range symphony for my last house and this one I’ve put a top range one in. I only went up a range because I wanted a particular door colour. Both from MKM
I buy a lot from MKM and their service is brilliant generally and I really hope I don’t move for a long time but if I did I’d buy another kitchen from mkm

Katb202060 · 24/11/2024 20:18

that is helpful, and good to know, see what the quote is, what one did you buy.

EwwSprouts · 24/11/2024 20:25

Yes I've gone with MKM from the Symphony range.

@ImTheOnlyUpsyOne & @Autumn1990 thanks you've given me great reassurance as I'm no expert. This only the second kitchen I've ever bought.

What named kitchen did you choose we have looked at the Alton and Hepworth.

EwwSprouts · 24/11/2024 22:39

@Katb202060 Looks like you prefer a slightly more traditional style. I wanted fewer dust collecting bits! Linear Avant paint to order.

That is a nice one, we had something similar in our old house for 25 years, wanted something different this time. Thanks for your replies, been a good help.

FloralMoon · 17/01/2025 09:55

@EwwSprouts how are you getting on with your new kitchen? Our local builders merchants have Symphony kitchens but we’ve never heard of that brand before. Many thanks

Katb202060 · 17/01/2025 14:03

Hi, we haven't got anywhere, our builder a year on cannot do the job as retiring, we have looked at other kitchen shops , really expensive, waiting for a price from Howdens, looking at the painted timber. We did get. a price from MKM symphony kitchen it was a good price for the mid range. Haven't ruled them out, but fitters around our way like Howdens.

EwwSprouts · 17/01/2025 19:43

@FloralMoon We are nearly there! I had a functioning kitchen for Christmas. Like the units, especially the swing larder as I'm a shortie. Went for AEG cooker and hob which are great. One cupboard door was randomly delivered in the wrong colour but that was put right straight after Christmas. The floor still needs doing but that's my fault as made a last minute decision to change the back door. The designer was helpful with ideas and listened. Joiner said he does lots of Symphony kitchens. (Won't touch one more expensive brand due to poor quality.)
