Looking for advice wise Munsnetters.
I am looking into getting either a Ring or a Eufy Doorbell and wondered which was best.

Eufy, no monthly subscription charge and the sound and picture quality on ours is the same as our neighbours Ring, if not better.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 22/10/2024 15:53

We are moving away from Ring due to the subscription costs, and despite having it on the most sensitive settings, the cameras still miss things within the area that I have set up.

I am looking at replacing with a Eufy, as I do not believe that they have subscription costs. However, we are moving shortly and the Ring subscription isn't up until July so will look nearer then.

I used to have a ring but moved to an eufy when the last ring died, I much prefer eufy, seems to work a bit better for us in terms of motion and I like no subscription just an sd to keep the videos

Eufy. Crazy to be locked into a monthly subscription for a doorbell!!

greengreyblue · 22/10/2024 15:56

. Why have one,?

Other than security and convenience?

I don’t get that though. I haven’t had one in over 30 years of home ownership so what benefit is it? All I hear is people being disturbed at work by their doorbell.

bridesmaid1024 · 22/10/2024 16:01

I've got a ring - when my yearly subscription comes to an end I'm moving to Eufy .... no subscription cost, better picture and from what I see on other peoples; they get notified quicker! lol

WYorkshireRose · 22/10/2024 16:05

We have a full Eufy system including doorbell and motion sensitive garage lights with built in cameras and have been really pleased with it.

There are loads. It puts off burglars and covers our car as well as our house from
a security point of view. We can see when our cleaner and dog walker come and go. If we are out or can’t get to the door we can ask delivery people to leave parcels in a safe space.

greengreyblue · 22/10/2024 16:40

I guess there is only one place to leave parcels and the drivers are the same here so haven’t had a need. How does videoing help with security? Surely any thieves are wearing hoodies these days? I mean even cctv is a bit useless as fast as convictions go.

Thanks for the advice ladies, much appreciated. Will look into a Eufy.

From someone who got woken up 3 times last night by the eufy doorbell going off for absolutely no reason in the early hours then not a eufy!
it’s also slow to ring sometimes but I think that’s down to WiFi
