Hello! I had an offer at asking price accepted on Thurs after a few days of back and forth.
I know the vendor had other viewings booked in and I was told they were cancelled when my offer was accepted.
I’ve had an email since my offer being accepted and I’ve done everything my end but I’ve had no memorandum of sale and the property is still listed.
On Friday I was told all viewings are off but the estate agent is awaiting the lawyer details from the vendor.
Is this normal? It’s now Monday night.
I have no chain and am in a great position. I just want to get cracking really as my family needs to get settled (and this house has no onward chain either).
Im wondering if I should keep looking at other properties or not though - it feels a bit tenuous and I’m not sure if I’m being kept hanging while they do viewings or change their mind on selling.

The EA doesn't issue the Memorandum until they have the solicitor's details from both sides so that part does make sense.

I think the seller should have sorted out a solicitor by now so I would ask the EA to check with them that they have done so and if not, why not? I don't think the EA would directly lie about something like this, it is way more likely the seller has just been a bit slow to engage a solicitor (I would have done it on the Friday).

It took us exactly a week to receive the memorandum of sale!

I didn't receive the memorandum of sale until a week after my offer was accepted as the estate agent was waiting for the seller to confirm solicitors details also, so I wouldn't worry about that and I doubt it means they're still conducting viewings.

I would double check regarding the online listing though. As soon as I provided ID, proof of funds and my solicitors details, the listing was marked as SSTC. The EA won't need the sellers solicitors details to do that.

Email them if you're worried 😊
