Can I do a home survey before giving my Offer?

I don't want to put an offer as I'm already tied into another one. The reason why still viewing other properties is because the sellers of current one are really slow they've only viewed one property in the last 2months since offer was accepted. I want to keep my options open after all it's not a small purchase

So, is it common to suggest to the EA getting a survey on property before committing?

Thanks

No. It isn’t common. And I think you’d have a hard time getting access for a surveyor, let alone continued help from your EA. If you want to pull out because your vendors are too slow, then do so.

Not common if buying in England. I'm afraid as a seller I.wouldnt allow this. Either you are interested in my property enough to make an offer and are proceedable or you aren't. Also be aware sellers may view you with caution if you have already flaked on a previous property, our estate agent certainly advised us to go with another buyer when we had two offers on our home as you want a keen buyer who is reliable

Seems a very odd thing for you to want to do. Surveys cost hundreds of pounds - why would you spend so much money on a property you haven't even got an agreement on?
