Does anyone else live in a basement flat?

I recently bought and moved into one, the second time I've lived in a basement flat (rented before).

I know they get a bad rep but would like to hear what others like about it and any tips to keep the damp at bay!

I have a private patio and my own front door. I have a massive, light bedroom and a big window in the living room so it never gets too dark. It's tiny but really cosy as the nights are drawing in!

I dry all my clothes on a heated covered airer with a small dehumidifier underneath, and do this in my bedroom where there's a ventilation unit. Windows are always on the latch and the extractor is on every time I cook.

Obviously there's cons, as with any property, but trying to focus on the positives as much as possible.

Look forward to speaking to other basement dwellers.

Have you got a separate kitchen with door and window ?

So you're cooking in your living space .

That's normally where the the issue is with cooking and steam.

Keep bedroom door closed when cooking.

I don't actually have any problems, was just hoping to hear from others in basements to hear their tips 🙂
