Restrictors on sash windows - anything I need to know ?

Probably a silly question but I often think something is simple when it isn't.
About to have new Uvpc windows in bedrooms on third floor.I really want shashes but I'd like it to be possible to restrict opening at the bottom.
Is this straightforward ?
Tia

For safety not security.

We had ones that had these little round things which you needed a key for. When out, they restricted the opening to around 5cm.

Ours have little catches that drop down.

We put these on our third floor sashes for a child's bedroom - they just stick on the window (not super aesthetic but we didn't mind for where they were).

What I liked was they don't need a key in an emergency to open the window entirely.

Solon Slide Jammer - 2 Pack

The Solon Slide Jammer is an effective entry point lock with 3 convenient options; locked, restricted or open. Keep windows and doors secure.

You don't want restrictors that need a key on upstairs windows. You should get quick release ones, as it's an unnecessary fire hazard otherwise. We have screw-in restrictors in our timber sashes and in-built catches in the upvc ones.

Thank you . Good to know that Uvpc can come with built in restrictors.

@FinnJuhl I'm struggling to find Uvpc with inbuilt restrictors on line.
Google throws up mainly wooden sashes
Do you know what make your windows are ?

Hi OP, I think they were by sashwindowsuk.com - the ultimate rose collection. You can't see the restrictors on the website very well, but you can just about make them out in this picture:
