Good Primary school and decent enough secondary school in manchester

We are looking to buy a house in an area that offers good primary school options, along with decent secondary schools in case our children don’t get into grammar school.
Our budget is up to £600,000 for a 3-bedroom house. The area should be diverse and not predominantly "white" only. Most importantly, we want a safe locality, that offers good value for money, and has a welcoming community. Both are working in the center so easy to get there.

Chorlton/Old Trafford. Great primaries and Chorlton high is brilliant. 15 min cycle into town or tram or bus.

Isn't the area more "city life"? we like quiet surroundings. Celebrates slow life.

I wouldn't say so it had more of a village feel to me. I like being close to town though. It's good nice parks and lots of clubs etc for the kids. Close to potter in for dinner/drinks or sunday lunch. It's not in the countryside though! I'd say somewhere like Altrincham, Wilmslow, Poynton for that? Longer to get into town if commuting daily though.
