Hi mum of 4 currently living in London
I currently live in 2 bed council flat and finally saved enough for a deposit but can only afford Sheffield/rotherham
ive found a house I love in Kimberworth but I know nothing about the area.
I read online Rotherham has a lot of racism crime is this true ? im worried about racism as my kids are mixed and dad is black.
cannot afford in London and willing to start a new life with family what should we do.
are schools any good my youngest has speech delay and suspected autism.

Any advise would be lovely

I guess it depends what you’re used to but I would consider Kimberworth as fine, there’s a mix of ethnicities and schools are generally good with SEN, the secondary school has an autism unit attached to it. It’s not far from the motorway. It’s definitely not a ‘posh’ area, there’s a mix of working professionals and some deprivation. In Rotherham as long as you don’t buy a house in Eastwood, Ferham, Parkgate, East Herringthorpe it’s ok.
Sheffield has some very affluent areas and areas of severe deprivation, in general the West is affluent, South East is nice and affordable, North is a bit hit and miss but that’s in simple terms.
