Enquires - when to chase?

First time buyer here, vacant property/no chain. 12 weeks in.

My solicitor sent enquires 2 weeks today. She is currently on annual leave until next week but said that her colleague would be covering her files during her absence. I haven't heard anything and I'm not sure if the sellers solicitor has responded yet.

I know 2 weeks isn't long in solicitors world though, on the other hand nothing seems to happen if you don't chase. I was hoping to complete before the end of this month but starting to think that won't happen. I will have to contact her PA as she didn't say who her colleague was.

How long is a reasonable timeframe before chasing?

If it's been 2 weeks without news I would chase now. Just remember they work for you! (be polite and reasonable obviously, but don't worry about chasing every couple of days)

@TheEnglishSystemSucks thank you, I have just emailed her PA 😊

I didn't want to be pushy but they were fairly straight forward questions so hopefully won't take ages to answer! Already feels like it's been forever waiting!
