New build address not found

My son has just completed on a new build property. Wanting to order some new furniture to be delivered but on the company website the postcode isn’t showing his property number. How long for it to show up? Unable to enter it manually.

Depends on the system and how it gathers it's data.
Can be anything from a few days to a couple of months.
I think that for us, after about 6-months just about everything we tried to find our address on worked ok.
I know people were still saying that they could not get our address on a satnav for up to a year.

Yes PP is right it could take a long time potentially....

I've been in my new build for 18 months, postcode showed up on addresses to order after a few months. Was over 6 months to change the address for our cars and driving licences! DVLA very slow. Is there not a manual option?

Our postcode still doesn't show on googlemaps affer 18 months! Very annoying, tried to register it with them but they won't accept it, only my full address which is no good when people just tap in the postcode.

Edited

No option to put address in manually just postcode then drop down

You can write to royal mail and ask them to check it has been added at their end. https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/update-your-address but obviously not all websites update immediately. We had to do this when we moved into a house that had been converted into 3 flats.

You can add it via the Royal Mail website which makes it show up under post code finders but I can’t remember how unfortunately…

Thank you. I did this earlier today as postcode finder on royal mail also wasn’t showing house number. Hopefully won’t be too long else have to have furniture delivered to my house then get a van to take to my sons address so not ideal.

The builder or developer needs to register it with the Royal Mail. It gets updated every month. I only know this for work purposes. The developer will tell him it's been done but if your son checks Royal Mail postcode checker and it's there he will know it's been done. It might cause delays getting broadband etc If it's not registered xxx

Ds friend’s parents moving into new build. Street name not registered yet. My friend is having to meet delivery drivers at nearest registered address. They call her when near and she directs or meets. Can take months.

Thank you. It address shows up on the utility websites, broadband, British Gas etc and it’s on Amazon but not on Royal Mail or where I want to order the furniture. Hopefully won’t be too long.
