Plywood kitchens

I'm thinking of getting IKEA kitchen carcasses and made to measure plywood doors from this site:

I like the simplicity and naturalness of the wood but I've never seen a plywood kitchen in real life or met anyone who has. Does the wood look good in daylight? Will the plywood last? What kind of issues do people have? What kind of worktop would look best? Please share any experience at all, TIA

We have a plywood kitchen (with plywood carcasses) and I love it. It’s been in for three years and worn very well. We have green laminate fronts which slightly show up finger marks but I don’t find it problematic and they are easy to clean. A paler shade wouldn’t show they up. My friend got hers from Plykea and she is also very happy with it after two years and it looks great.

Thanks @OneDayIWillLearn that's very encouraging. I love the clear bright colours of the laminate fronts -has your friend got laminate too? I just think my kitchen is too small for the bright colours so was thinking pale woody plywood cabinets and palish green marble worktops. I'll check out Plykea now

I can’t actually quite remember now (which is awful as I’ve been there so many times!). I think they’re either white laminate or plain wood. I can check…..

Oh thanks @OneDayIWillLearn any more info about how well it lasts would be so useful. And thanks for putting me onto Plykea - they have a showroom in London so I will go and see how the plain plywood looks

I follow an Instagram account called jessalaviellis (previously clueless renovators but I guess she's not so clueless anymore!) anyway she put in a ply kitchen in case you want to browse her profile for inspo! She's been responsive when I asked her a question about something else too, so might help if you have questions about it x

That's incredibly helpful @Gotosleep91 - thanks so much
