Looking for Property Near to Amenities

We don't have a car and it is a 30 min walk to nearest shops and 10 mins to bus stop and post box. Looking for a small city or town to live within a 20 min walk of amenities with a good bus service. Prefer a bungalow and near a park or green area - anywhere from Midlands down to south coast. Any suggestions please?

Budget is between £250,000 and maybe £375,000.

Belper is great. This is a very short walk to town and you could convert the upstairs if you wanted more bedrooms. Its also right by the train station and buses to Derby:

Bayston hills is lovely and great for access to Shrewsbury. You can't tell from these pictures, which don't do the area justice but all around here is beautiful Shropshire countryside that you can see from Bayston hills:

In fact Shrewsbury is general could be a good shout, as I expect further south would be too expensive for anything nice.
