How much have you recently paid for French doors?

We need to replace our sliding porch door (more of an ex-sliding door at this point) and would like French doors as they will work best with our space and needs. Just been to see a company who will be quoting for both aluminium and UPVC options, and wondering what others have paid recently.

In case relevant, we’ll be replacing an existing sliding door and top panel / fanlight thingie with full-height French doors, external-rated with a threshold.

We like this company - they’ve been helpful, explained everything properly and helped us work out what we want and like. But have no points of reference for prices. (We’ve had a quote from another company but they just quoted for a regular or patio door with sidelight and didn’t think to suggest French doors.)

So would love to hear what others have paid and any tips! Thanks!

I've just had mine done! My quote was with an existing local company and it included 3 windows elsewhere for nearly £6k. The french doors needed completely restructuring unlike yours and they are huge with side windows. I think they would be about £4k.

I had patio doors replaced several years ago and they were 1.5k.

Both were UPVC.

These are origin aluminium. They were £2400 about 3 years ago.
we are at the moment waiting to have another pair a bit wider fitted . These are £3280.

We have upvc windows but went with aluminium because they are a slimmer profile and the thresholds are very low and there is no step, unlike upvc doors.

I got french hardwood doors from here. They were £500 ish 2 years ago, husband fit them. We put a fixed light (window) above the door, separate price. Husband fit them, he's a joiner. Just sharing as they were the best value i could find.
