New Bathroom!

I currently have a tiny en suite next to a small bathroom and I’m planning on knocking the two rooms into one decent sized bathroom. I would have both a bath and a walk in shower. Obviously this is major and costly work so I want to make sure I make the best decisions.

Wise mumsnetters are there any “must haves” or any “must nots” that you could share with me?

Thank you

I really liked my Mira thermostatic shower with rain head and seperate handheld shower when I did my last house.

I also got big 1m porcelonosa wall tiles meaning there was less grout to clean.

I've moved and my current bathroom is very basic but it's probably 3-5 years down the list, and after the kitchen for getting a refurb. One thing I didn't get but have enjoyed at other people's houses is underfloor heating in the bathroom. I also miss a heated towel rail.

If you live anywhere near a Bathroom Mountain or a Tile Mountain I would strongly advise going to look at their showrooms (they are also online). We have just installed a new bathroom and the choice and quality are exceptional. with free next day delivery. We have a walk-in shower, vanity unit with basin, toilet & bath. We also bought our wall and floor tiles from them, they were a fraction of the price of other tile shops and again, the quality was excellent.

Be careful when choosing a toilet that it doesn't have a tiny throat and horrible skiddy pan that is above the waterline.
