Solicitor is on holiday and nothings happening with my case

Hi,

My solicitor has gone on holiday for 2.5 weeks and nothing seems to be happening with my case now even though she confirmed that her colleague would be covering her work.

It's been nearly 3 weeks since the searches came back and she told me she would raise the enquires before she left but didn't and her colleague hasn't either.

I rang the office this morning and spoke to her secretary and she told me that someone would email me with an update but I've not had anything yet.

What do I do? It all seems to be a standstill now. Surely this isn't normal?

Can I instruct another solicitor instead? If I do will they have to start over or can they just pick up from where my solicitor has stopped?

I work for an estate agent, unfortunately if you instruct a new solicitor it’s going to cause more of a delay. Remember you’re the person paying the bill so if the service isn’t what you expect tell them. The colleague she’s passed it to is probably dealing with more than they can handle so it’ll be a case of who shouts the loudest gets dealt with

They will start again….and you would have to pay for any work already done by the other solicitor …….email the manager and tell them you not happy with the service
