What trade do we need?

We have a balcony which has concrete steps into the garden. They are covered in bitumen / tarmac type stuff. They were in a poor condition when we purchased the flat and as we are selling, have been asked to consider getting them fixed / get a quote.

Who do we need? DP who is a tradesman and usually knows this sort of stuff has researched and come up with a roofer but surely not?

Any ideas?

If it's just a case of filling in potholes to make it look nicer, apparently you can buy some sort of cold tarmac product from DIY stores to fill in the holes. Then you paint everything black with special tarmac paint. My neighbour has just done his drive, it looks pretty good. Neighbour on the other side copied him but tried to fill the holes with concrete instead of the special tarmac stuff. It didn't look good because the concrete didn't take the paint in the same way as the old drive tarmac. You have to really get the filled holes looking neat too.

Thanks. No this would need the old bitumen removed before it was replaced - although we could be cheapskates and just do one step...
