Removing Partner from Property

Hi all

Just a quick question please. If a property is owned by two people (with no mortgage) and one of them is removed. Does stamp duty need to be paid?

SDLT is payable if the title holder changes. As one name stays the same I don’t think it requires payment but I would check with the conveyancer or ask the LR for their advice.
