Anyone else waiting for completion?

We accepted an offer on our house that we’ve lived in for the last 33 years about 8 weeks ago…
Had a call from my solicitor to say that the chain could collapse - the people buying ours have had their buyer possibly pull out!! So frustrating!! We planned to move at some point in October and we’ve started packing already!!! So frustrating and so stressed right now! We found the perfect forever home too!

I think you’re more likely to get replies if you repost with a title that reflects what your thread is about.

Any update @good96 ?

From what I was told after out offer it usually takes 12 weeks at least to get to completion and in my mind I doubled that. Lucky I did as our buyers pulled out last week. We've had to go back on the market, it's all so frustrating.

Had a call this morning and unfortunately the chain has collapsed as our buyer has had their buyer pull out. Spoken to the vendors of the property we were buying and they’ve agreed to give us a month to re-sell ours as they know how much we want it! We even offered £10k more for the inconvenience but they declined.. They are moving into a rental property themselves before re-locating abroad. Ours is back on RM right now… just frustrating as we had geared up to have moved this year and we’ve started packing!! I mean it could still happen but it’s looking like nearer to Christmas now or just after..

Oooh! In the space of 48 hours, we’ve gone back on the market, had a viewing last night and had an offer today which we’ve accepted! £5k below the asking price but more than what we had previously agreed on! We go again for the second time. Feeling more hopeful!!

That's good news! Fingers crossed for you. We are back on the market too and had an offer already but not accepted yet as it's low and we have 8 viewings booked in for Saturday so want to see what happens then first. I feel hopeful that we'll have an acceptable offer by next week. We haven't informed anyone in our chain yet as I'm hoping it can be rectified quick enough that it doesn't need to fall apart. That's the advice from the solicitor and estate agents.
