Am thinking of moving to Putney now our house in the country seems empty without kids. Is Putney a good place to live to give easy access to the highlights of London? I dont have that much money to move in further, and like the fact it is near some greenery, and not to much concrete! But is it really a family areaor would you look somewhere else?

It’s very much a family area. Not all of it is near public transport though, ideally you need to be near the train station for easy access to central London, and that bit is busier and less green. Barnes or Kew also worth considering, not much further out. Barnes seems to be full of well heeled 50+s (maybe just when I’ve visited!)

It’s quite a family area but also lots of young people in house shares etc. Very white and middle class. Nice to have the river nearby. Tube at either end or train line.
