hello, please can you suggest where I can buy affordable large rugs from that are thick. I have looked at jute rugs and quite like them. I am very open to all suggestions, thanks so much!

Size wise, I need:

Living room: 3 metres x 3 metres
Dining room: 2 metres x 3 metres

Thanks very much

La Redoute has a few large rugs, fairly inexpensive. Zara Home and H&M also worth a look.

3x3m will be hard though - square rugs are rare

Thank you

I came here to say I’ve been happy with La Redoute rugs too. They seem to have a selection of jute rugs which might fit the bill/budget.

The Ikea Lohals ones are good, I think they do a 2 by 3

Oh just to add there are some carpet companies eg Crucial Trading or Alternative Flooring which will make you a rug any size, by cutting and binding the edges of a piece of carpet. They do jute and sisal carpets so this could be an option if you can’t find ready made in the right size.

Have a look at ikea - we have 2 that are technically outdoor rugs but look great.

Hi. I wanted a rug about 5m by 4m and ended up just buying some carpet from Carpetright and got the edges bound. Looks fantastic (well I love it!) And was way cheaper than buying a ready made rug.

Clearly mine isn't Jute, but it's more the idea - there are plenty of options at the carpet shops. Oh and different edging options too. They can do some sort of taped edging (still stitched I think) which might work better with jute.

We recently bought a very old house and I have filled it with these rugs from Amazon .

They are not to everyone's taste but they are so reasonable and they are soft underfoot and such nice colours.

I think I have about 10 now which would have been thousands if paying normal rug prices

They are sort of padded and big once down are so nice .
