First time buyer - moving North/north west

Hi all, we’d really love some help with some areas to look into around north/north west London area.

we are buying for the first time and it’s ideally our family/forever home so we are being very picky and also probably very unrealistic so really welcoming to all advice here.

budget is £1.5m can maybe stretch to 1.6m
4 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
a garden

good transport links is really important for my partner as he does night shifts meaning late travel so safety is a concern, <35 mins from Marble Arch station.

as we plan on raising a family there we do want it to be safe, but we are also less keen on suburban areas - Victorian terraced seems to be the style of houses we like the most!

we are also keen for it to need minimal work doing to it, eeek.

we love Hampstead Heath but it’s too expensive for us. So ideas for similar areas on a 1.5m budget are welcome.

Currently living in Balham and seems like we can almost meet all the above criteria for around about this budget, so it may just mean moving north london is out of the question!

West Hampstead might just fit the bill, it's a safe, family friendly area with excellent transport links. It's only a 15/20 minute walk up the hill to Hampstead Heath.

Second West Hampstead. Lively area, great transport links. Quite a safe area.
