Nationwide mortgage delays?

We're buying a new house and applied for a Nationwide mortgage via a broker on 30th August and have heard nothing since. No queries, no valuation booked, nothing. (We had our DIP approved instantly).
Loads of people seem to say Nationwide is generally pretty quick to offer, and the whole thing is often done within a week? The website says their current service time from app to offer is 10 days on average. Our broker is going to investigate and suspects there are delays because they're currently offering some of the most competitive rates, so probably processing a high volume of apps at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing delays with Nationwide at the moment? Or how long did it take to get your mortgage approved recently?

Did you get a text to say they had received your mortgage application? Or anything from them to say they have received it?

We applied directly with Nationwide and received an offer within a day of the application being submitted - however the application didn't actually submit properly the first time our advisor tried to do it. He said I would get a text once the application was received and I didn't, so I queried it with him a day later and he had to resubmit it. Got the text immediately after he resubmitted it and then as I said got an offer about a day later.

Our advisor said they are having some IT issues at the minute and they've seen a few applications getting 'stuck' so I would definitely query whether it's actually gone through or not. (We applied on Monday, resubmitted the application on Tuesday and received the offer yesterday)

Thanks @CatLady1994 , we got a text to say application has been received the day our app was submitted, and hard credit check was carried out the same day. But absolutely no update since.

We have a Level 3 survey scheduled for next week so was wondering if they're waiting for the results of that?

They have probably been held up working on the takeover of Virgin Money, which was approved to proceed today.

Your survey shouldn’t make the jot of difference to a lender. All they will care about is if their own mortgage valuer thinks the house is worth more than they are lending you, and they will only instruct someone to do that after mortgage approval.
