Under offer but nothing to buy

We accepted an offer two weeks ago but absolutely nothing has come on the market since. By nothing, I mean a handful of flats but no houses, not even anything outside of our budget.
We’re registered with every estate agent in the area, I think we’ve viewed before with majority of them (but at that stage weren’t proceedable as not under offer) so they know us already and I’ve updated them that we are now under offer.

I’ve updated our estate agent so they can keep our buyer posted but I’m starting to get stressed about nothing new being listed and refreshing Rightmove a million times a day. It’s not helped by the fact that a property we viewed and that was perfect went under offer a week before we got an offer on ours.

We are in London- are things likely to pick up soon (asking hopefully)?

Have you tried on the market as well as Rightmove and Zoopla, also maybe purple bricks website direct? The market seems really slow where we are at the moment too, nothing new on the market for a few weeks, only reductions!

I’m sure your buyer will understand, they will likely be busy sorting their mortgage and stuff in the meantime :)

I might be wrong, but I feel like most people wouldn't list a property in August and would be planning to come on in September once people are back from holidays, back at work and thinking about new lives for next year. Hopefully the properties are all on the way in the next few weeks.

The house you liked that went under offer coukd well fall through as do approx 20% off sales. Keep in touch with the agent,

I feel your pain. We've just been gazumped and there is literally nothing coming on the market. Second week of September and stop nothing.

We've rejected a couple of offers on our flat but ended up cancelling lots of viewings - mainly because we were so gutted about the gazumping but also because we'd be worried about losing a buyer because it's not like the market was busy before summer.

The house we were gazumped on was being surveyed last week and I'd be very surprised if the gazumpers don't try to reduce their over inflated offer so we may hear back from them.

We are SE London.
